Today’s Assignment
The assignments for NTI Day 2 are a continuation of learning that is occurring in our classroom on regular school days. No new material is being introduced. NTI Day 2 assignments are a reflection of our Kindergarten curriculum as indicated on our syllabi. In Math, the students will be reviewing material that we have learned. Students will count and compare groups of objects. Students will count forward by 1’s, 5’s and 10’s while counting objects one to one and practice one more and one less. Students will find, name and describe several shapes around their home and practice drawing four of the shapes they found. Calendar activities are also explained and should be reviewed at home.
In Language Arts, the students will practice reading and writing high frequency words that we have learned. Students will write rhyming words. Students will also complete their regular 20 minutes of nightly reading homework.
In Writing, the students will write one sentence using a spelling word(s), CVC words, and high frequency word(s) that they know. Students will also write and illustrate a story about what they like to do on a snow day. Students will use correct capitalization, punctuation, and finger spacing in all sentences.
These assignments should be completed throughout the course of the day as if it were a regular school day.
