Today’s Assignment
Students are to read about the Battle of Somme of World War I from Unit 6. Students will then answer questions about the battle which was considered the worst battle of the war. Students will then read a passage about the different battles and apply geographical skills. Students will shade or identify different places from the battles on a map. They will then draw arrows for troop movements. Students will need highlighters and a red marker for the map. Students may get a copy of the activity when they return to school. It should take approximately 50 minutes to complete the activities.
