Today’s Assignment

In this lesson, we will investigate philosophers of the Classical age of Greece (ca. 500-330 BC). This era of history featured the three most influential Western philosophers of all time; Socrates, Plato (a student of Socrates), and Aristotle (a student of Plato). Socrates and Plato were both Athenian, while Aristotle moved to Athens for a time to study at Plato’s Academy. Socrates (470-399 BCE) was a Greek philosopher and is considered the father of western philosophy. Plato (428-348 BCE) was his most famous student and would teach Aristotle (384-322 BCE) who would then tutor Alexander the Great.
