Today’s Assignment

Who was the “father” of our country? In this lesson, students learn about the life of the first American president, George Washington. They’ll discover how Washington dedicated his life to public service and helped shape the United States government as we know it today. Students will READ six short excerpts and demonstrate comprehension by answering a multiple-choice question. There is a total of 6 short reading passages with one multiple choice question for each passage. This portion of the assignment will take approximately 30 minutes (5 minutes for each passage and question) to complete.
The attachments for the Read and Respond Activity is posted here on this website link. Students may choose to print the handout or use Notebook Paper to write their answers. Students may access the handout and needed information for this assignment on their Google Classroom for U.S. History. When logging on to Google Classroom, students use their school email and password.

Students may also choose to sign-in to their CLEVER account and complete the Read and Respond Activity on Flocabulary. By signing into to the Flocabulary resource they will have access to supporting video and vocabulary definitions. When logging on to CLEVER, students use their student ID number and birth date.
