Today’s Assignment
Use the documents provided — a poem by Pablo Neruda, a prompt with learning standards and a writing rubric — to prepare for your up-coming summative with a different text.1) Write a thesis about how Neruda uses poetic devices. The thesis should include the three supporting ideas for how Neruda develops his purpose in the poem. 2) Create an outline stating those three ideas and list three pieces of evidence from the poem for each supporting idea. We will finish in class by discussing how to explain supporting evidence and you will do so with two of your paragraphs.
