Today’s Assignment

Reading:The student will locate at least five previous BEE Books at their house (preferably different ones than those used for NTI days 5, 6, 7, but the same ones can be used as well. If BEE Books cannot be located, other books may be used to complete activities 2-4)
1. They will look at the words on the back. The student will spell each “New Word Wall Word” and then say the word out loud. They will read the “Previous Word Wall Words” out loud. The student will “echo read” the “Other Words” on the back (Someone will read the words aloud, and the student will repeat the words.).
2. Someone (a parent or other adult) will read the BEE Books to the student.
3. Then, they will echo read the books. (Someone reads each page, and the student repeats what is read.)
4. The student will read the books aloud to someone, “touch reading” each word (the student touches each word with their finger as they read.)
The student will retell each book to someone in their own words.
5. The student will write each word wall word on the back (just the words listed under “new word wall words”) three times each, spelling each word as they write it.
6. The student and/or a parent or another adult need to make flashcards of any new and previous word wall words listed on the BEE Books used for this assignment that they haven’t already, and study the words. Word lists of all previous word wall words were sent home in the NTI packet if BEE Books weren’t used. They are also posted on the GR Hampton Kindergarten Facebook page.

Math:
1. The student will write numbers to 120. Number charts were sent home, but if no number charts are available, the students can simply write the numbers on paper in rows of 10 numbers.
2. They will then point to each number and say each number as they touch it
3. Then, they need to color the following numbers blue- 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35
4. Next, color the following numbers red- 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, 80, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 100

Writing:
1. The students will write their first, middle and last names five times each. Please make sure that only the first letter is capitalized. Some students are writing their names using all uppercase letters still, so please monitor this.
2. They will then point to each letter in their name and say the name of the letter.
3. The student will spell their entire name out loud without looking.
4. Write each letter of the student’s name on an index card or paper cut into squares. Make words using the letters from their name and write them down.
