Today’s Assignment

In this lesson, students will learn how the U.S. Constitution came to be and what it means to our system of government today. Students will read about the role that Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and John Locke played in creating this plan of government.
You will READ fourteen short excerpts and demonstrate comprehension by answering a multiple-choice question. There is a total of 14 short reading passages with one multiple choice question for each passage. This portion of the assignment will take approximately 60 minutes (5 minutes for most passages and questions – at least 3 passages are only 1 paragraph of reading) to complete.

Please CLICK on the attachment for the Read and Respond Activity below. You may choose to print the handout or use Notebook Paper to write your answers. You may also choose to sign-in to your CLEVER account and complete the Read and Respond Activity on Flocabulary. The Flocabulary resource will have access to supporting video and vocabulary definitions. When logging on to CLEVER, students use their student ID number and birth date.

Also, ALL information, directions, and the handout are posted on your Google Classroom. Students use their school email account and password to login to their Google Classroom for U.S. History 8th Grade.
