Today’s Assignment

This lesson supports our previous reading activity about the Middle Ages in Europe to help build your vocabulary knowledge. There are 10 key words that you will focus on and show your understanding by writing a sentence with the word in it that demonstrates you understand its meaning. You will also make a connection with another topic you have previously studied or something you know about today that has the same meaning as the key vocabulary word.
For EXAMPLE the first word on the handout is Attila the Hun. YOU CANNOT USE THE SAME EXAMPLE SENTENCE on the Handout.
Example Sentence: Attila the Hun was a great warrior and leader who attacked many cities and towns in Western Europe.
Example Connection: Julius Caesar led an attack against the Roman Empire and made himself Dictator of Rome.

There is a total of 10 Key Vocabulary Words. This assignment will take approximately 50 minutes (5 minutes for each word) to complete.

Please CLICK on the attachment for the Vocabulary Activity handout below. Students may choose to print the Handout or use Notebook Paper to write their answers.
