Today’s Assignment

In the previous lesson, you learned about the creation of the new U.S. Constitution. In this lesson you will learn about the Bill of Rights that were added to protect the rights of individual citizens. Thanks to the Bill of Rights citizens are protected by these 10 laws! These rights are enumerated in the first 10 amendments to the Constitution. Having the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights came with a cost due to war in order to have the United States of America. Would you fight for your Bill of Rights?
You will READ eleven short excerpts and demonstrate comprehension by answering a multiple-choice question. There is a total of 11 short reading passages with one multiple choice question for each passage. This portion of the assignment will take approximately 55 minutes (5 minutes for most passages and questions – at least 4 passages are only 1 paragraph of reading) to complete.

Please CLICK on the attachment for the Read and Respond Activity below. You may choose to print the handout or use Notebook Paper to write their answers. You may also choose to sign-in to your CLEVER account and complete the Read and Respond Activity on Flocabulary. The Flocabulary resource will have access to supporting video and vocabulary definitions. When logging on to CLEVER, students use their student ID number and birth date.

Also, ALL information, directions, and the handout are posted on your Google Classroom. Students use their school email account and password to login to their Google Classroom for U.S. History 8th Grade.
