Today’s Assignment
For NTI Day 10, you will write the last body paragraph and the conclusion to the informative essay you have been writing. Since this is a first draft, you should be able to complete the assignment in app. 45 minutes. On NTI Day 9, you shared your first two body paragraphs with me choosing two different text structures to organize those paragraphs. For this assignment, you will choose one more of the five text structures to write your third body paragraph and then write a conclusion. Using the organizer you received in class and attached here, choose a different text structure from the two you previously used to organize your last body paragraph. (i.e. description, cause/effect or compare/contrast, sequence or problem/solution- whichever structure fits your purpose best that you didn’t use before). If you are unclear of these instructions, the Flocabulary video we watched in class and available to you to watch again on Google Classroom on the Eiffel Tower is a great model for you to use. Once you have written your last body paragraph, you need to write a conclusion to your paper that restates your thesis statement, and leaves the reader feeling as though you are finished speaking to them. When you have finished your first draft, share your essay with me just as you did on NTI Day 9 on Google Docs. Use the email teresa.gambrel@knox.kyschools.us NOT teresa.gambrel@stu.knox.kyschools.us.
